If you’re a locum who would like to offer your services to the Victoria medical community, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how to get started:
1. Become a member of the Victoria Medical Society.
Members of our organization have access to a secure member’s area section of the VMS website with important information for doctors in the Greater Victoria area. They also get to attend dinners, CME events, and social gatherings that the Society organizes.
Complete the member application form to apply today. Your application will be reviewed and voted upon by the executive at the next monthly meeting. You will be notified of the results of the vote, either by email or by regular post.
2. Express your interest to offer locum services to the VMS Administrator.
You can do so by either listing “locum” on the membership application in the “Field of Practice” section, or by contacting us through one of the methods listed on this site.
3. Get access to the locum calendar admin area.
Locum members have access to an online calendar where they can advertise their availability and contact information for no cost.
Here you can create a listing for any dates you are available to perform locum services on the master locum calendar. We ask for each availability listing you create, that you provide the following information in the description field:
Area of Interest: With Obstetrics or Without Obstetrics
Preference for Work Locations: Walk In Clinic Only, Family Practice Only, or Both
Contact Information: Phone and Email
Your listing will appear on the master locum calendar for all members to see, allowing them to better schedule their vacation time.
When your services have been booked, we ask that you remove your listing from the calendar to avoid getting further inquiries. This saves you and our members time and frustration.
Once logged into the site, visit the Locum Calendar page for instructions on how to add your availability.
